About Sue Ryan
Sue Ryan My Story

My mission is to empower and embolden leaders to maximize the opportunities and potential change will bring.

My life motto: ‘Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you’ve imagined’. ~ Henry David Thoreau

For more than thirty years, my professional career was in enterprise application software sales. Working with clients – from entrepreneurs to Fortune 100 C-Suite leaders – in more than 700 organizations and a multitude of industries – to successfully navigate significant change. Their organizations collectively recognized hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue gains and operational efficiency improvements. Sales and operational teams consistently delivered results-driven and record-breaking performance. Individuals were connected with the value they brought and were satisfied with their success.

In parallel, I’ve been in roles of family (non-professional) caregiving support. I’ve moved from feeling frustrated, overwhelmed, and yes – sometimes frightened – to confident, balanced and supported navigating the transitions in my life, my care receiver’s and those who support us on our journey.

My husband and I are currently navigating our journey of love with his diagnosis of Alzheimer’s Disease. This includes caring for him through the pandemic with his diagnosis of COVID, during care community lockdown, and his current support with hospice care.

“Sue brings her experience, insights, and wisdom to take on and solve the toughest of business challenges with you. With Sue, you’ll never be left hanging, spinning your wheels or wondering what’s next – you’ll just get to the end game faster!”

Through my experiences, I’ve learned to master major, complex – or simple – transitions at crossroads in all areas of my life.

In my early transitions, I didn’t have a process. I didn’t know what I didn’t know or how to navigate my transitions. I often didn’t even think of what I was going through as a transition.

I know what it feels like to be standing at the edge of the abyss in our life – or to be down in the abyss – not knowing where to turn, what to do, or who to talk with. I’ve navigated the transition of having my career and future excitedly planned out and having that change in an instant when my horse accidentally kicked me in the knee.

I’ve navigated the transition from being the adoring daughter of my hero, my Dad, to journeying with him as a caregiver through his diagnosis of a type of Dementia.

I’ve navigated the transition from being a consistent top performer in our company and achieving the highest recognition, to realizing it wasn’t where I wanted to be, having no idea where to turn, what to do, or who to talk with.

I’ve navigated the journey of being single into my late forties in a career that had me traveling frequently and doing what I wanted when I wanted, to falling in love and marrying Jack – the love of my life – becoming part of his large family, embracing his desire to retire, move, and travel.

I’ve navigated the transition from being the loving wife and partner with Jack, to our being told he was now an Alzheimer’s patient and I was now his caregiver – the path we’ve been journeying together for the past eleven years.

I’ve navigated the transition from living my life being who I thought others wanted me to be, to discovering who I’m meant to be, recreating my life, and living with joy from the highest expression of who I am. I’ve become the master of transitions, and I’m here to help you become the master of yours.

I don’t want your transitions to be as difficult as mine were or take you as long to learn how to intentionally – and successfully – navigate them as it took me.
